DORA is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the marketplace and is committed to promoting a fair and competitive business environment in Colorado. Consumer protection is our mission. Today, DORA includes nine separate divisions and the Executive Director's Office. DORA's divisions include more than 40 boards, commissions, and advisory committees. The Division of Registrations alone regulates over 47 professions, occupations and businesses in the state totaling over 345,000 people. Add in the other Divisions at DORA and we oversee nearly 700k licensed professionals in the State.
Unlike other state agencies that are taxpayer or general fund funded, DORA is approximately 99% cash funded, meaning we are self sustaining, we bring in the money to do what we do from the fees paid by licensees and such.
